Mohawks Rock

Okay I need to get rid of my hair.....but what fun is just shaving it all off...NONE! So I wanna make a Mohawk...but I have no Idea on how to do any of this. I just don't feel like doing it myself and messing up, because then where would I be.....nowhere....So I live in Boise Idaho, I was wondering if ANYONE knew of a place where I could go and get it done, and get the rights products and stuff. If you look at my picture you can see what kind of hair I have to work on, any recommendations would help a lot. The kind I wanted was a Fanning Mohawk that was dyed red and black. All I need to know is where to get it and if it will work. I was also wondering how much work is it going to be to keep it up, cause I'm only 14 and waking up in the morning is a problem...but I can make it work if I have to.

THANK YOU!!!!!!!!

Got a phone? Use pixdrop to send pictures of mohawks to it and tell a barber "shave my sides so it looks like this."

In the long run mohawks are less maintenance than regular hair, assuming you leave it up for multiple days, seeing as how you don't have to wash it, and the grease that forms in your hair over-night won't get in your face. Use Got2b Freeze Spray, any gel's or glues are heavier than their strength so it will just fall back over. Look up videos on how to spike/fan/put up a mohawk.

What Steve said, really. He seems to be the god of mohawk styling. If you need better pictures just print them out off your computer if possible, or just ask for a mohawk - any decent barber should know what it is. They might not shave the sides completely though, so you might have to go home and use a razor later.

As with products, go online if nowhere locally sells the spray (it's the best thing out there) and always let them try to put it up. It won't work but it's good for a laugh.

Extra tip: learn to sleep on your side for holding a 'hawk up over multiple days. You get used to it, and it helps a lot.

ALSO: have it cut around 3 inches wide. The average person losses about 250 hairs per day, so over time your hawk will start to look thinner. Cutting it wider leaves you more hair to work with
And of course, if you keep it up for a while a week's worth of hairs will fall out at once. I wasn't expecting that one when I started with a 'hawk.

DIY Hawk (friend is optional lol)

1.Get a piece of duct tape, adjust the width by adding or subtracting pieces.

2.Get a friend to see if it's centered on your head, and stick it down straight the middle. This protects your hair for the most part.

3. If you have long hair, trim down the sides with scissors, and use electric shears.

4. (Optional) Use a shaving razor to make the sides of your head bald.

oh and the topic of hair products its ok but try not to use sprays or gels with alcohol in them to often.Steve and capt pretty much covered everything else
