Haha, I didn't really have time for any other scene. I started young ^.^
I loved punk since I was young. My brother first introduced me to it through Green Day. Though today I realise that I'm more into Pop Punk then anything else. (I mean Green Day AKA the Godfathers of Pop Punk has been my favorite band since forever.) But they helped me search out actual punk bands and now I love all forms of punk. Though I'm too much of a homebody to say I'm actually in the punk scene.
I love the queers with a passion!!!
Don't forget jawbreaker.

i have to say i like original Punk more than the modern pop punk stuff. but then again im a metal/reaggae head so i cant really talk here. i remember when i turned into a metal head tho. my coz was playin fear of the dark (iron maiden) and something inside me changed. i thot it was super heavy but today i listen to death/black metal so its light rock to me now lol. my favorite stuff is still thrash (80's fast drumming, crazy guitar, schreeched, vocals bay area metal), but i really like psychodelic funk metal and numetal too (primus and slipknot and such).
originally my sister introduced me to offspring, went to an offspring show loved it, then went to the warped tour a long time ago, and saw a lot of GREAT bands, and ever since i guess lol
I was born a punk, i slam danced my way out of my mother, i grew my hair into a mohawk using only the vibrations that came of playing punk rock at full blast on speakers, then i spike it using spit, blood and sweat.

Nay!

One local, recently broken up, influential punk band was quoted as saying "WE ARE PUNK. REAL FUCKING PUNK ROCK IN IT'S PUREST FORM. YOU COULD STICK OUR BAND IN A SYRINGE AND SHOOT US IN YOUR VEINS AND YOU WOULD SPROUT A FUCKING MOHAWK!"

I found a Ramones tape when I was six.

Still have it somewhere... Don't believe I have a tape player though.
I had a similar experiance with that song (Rancid - Ruby Soho).

At the time i was really into Good Charlotte (im not anymore), and anyways,i was about 12 at the time and i was fucking around on thier website and i came across the music video of Ruby Soho. I dont know why it was even on there - i think it was because one of the band members liked Rancid. So i watched it. It felt to me like it was the start of a whole new life for me. i know i probably sound like a dick, but the music seemed so real - it seemed so right. It felt like it was speaking to me in a way nothing ever has before. I dont know how to explain it. At the time, i was feeling pretty shit about nearly everything, but when i heard that song......everything seemed to change. And ever since then, i have found out about other punk bands etc and i feel as though i belong. i feel like i can relate to it. i feel as though i know who i am and what i stand for, and i know that i will always love punk music and all that it stands for, for the rest of my life.

Does any of that make any sense?????????????????
