Mohawks Rock

Alright.
So, basically, a mohawk can seem like a rather dramatic haircut, especially to those squares who dare not have more than one layer in their hair, or have one side shorter than the other.
Myself, I have dreamed of having a mohawk through my last year of school, and in finally finishing, I'm advancing to having a mohawk of good standard.
BUT! Everyone around me are having such negative doubts about it. Usually, I couldn't give a shit about what the others thought, but for it to be an everyday conversation, it can start getting on my conscience and I begin to wonder 'just maybe, I should cut it off.' Whenever I feel like this, I run to Mohawksrock.com. The minute I am on this site, sifting through pictures, some of very beautiful girls with mohawks, my inspiration returns and I instantly think, 'Fuck this! I'm growing this baby!"

So, I would just like to say thank you, to all of you rocking a mohawk so amazingly! <3

Good for you! I understand when you get pelted from people left and right pressuring you to cut it. I kept getting told to cut mine so that I could get a job in massage therapy. But today is my first day at a massage clinic. So keep your head up and don't let the mindless sheeple doubt yourself.

Nice! An absolute perfect use for this site.

@Adam wonder if you could use the mohawk as a nice finishing sweeping motion at the end of your massages.

this place is like home for me, i live in an extremaly conservative part of london, where everything has to be to a certain standard, but after an accident i had last year, im gutted it took an accident to push me, but i finally though fuck what everyone else things, now i walk around with a dangerous mohawk on my head blarring my metal as i go down the street and have never felt so much like myself, even though all my close mates are totally different to me they all accept who i am and actually love the look...

Skull do what ever it takes to make yourself happy, dont worry about your mates and what other people think, if they are real mates they will accept you for who you are....

Aw, that's sweet!! You do whatever makes you happy!! I guess after 15 years of shaving my dome different ways I am numb to the stares and questions. As long as you're happy with yourself and your choices it doesn't really matter what people say or think. Jesus christ, it's a mohawk, you're not suckin dick for crack, ya know?

Oh, also I live in Portland Or now, which is the most body mod accepting city in the country right now, so it's easier here than say in the midwest.

You know, I'm so glad you've said this because i've had one in the past, but i'm thinking of growing a longer one and doing the whole thing. But recently i've been thinking 'what if?' and thats never like me! so, like you guys, i've came onto MOHAWKSROCK back and forth and seeing everyone on here always makes me thinking fuck it, theres people in the world that are like this too. I sometimes think what will people/guys think, orwh atever...if i shaved it completely... but then i just think to myself...ITS JUST A HAIR STYLE. IF THEY DON'T LIKE ME FOR ME THEY'RE NOT WORTH IT. FUCK THEM.

i'm just happy that its not just me who thinks this :)
So thanks for writing this!!! xx

PS. I know what you guys mean by thinking this site is like a 'sanctuary', and also i think i am just going to go for the hawk again :)

Ugh I know exactly how you feel. I still get people asking everyday when are you going to grow it out. Since when does hair=beauty? It doesn't! The same thing with my piercings too. But it's just the moments of seeng these pictures and being with my family (who support my style) that makes me forget about everyone's bullshit! Most people say it gets easier as you get older and you don't think in such a negative aspect brought about in your teenage years.
