Parents and mohawks
Ok, so i got my mohawk last sunday, and since then whenever i wear it up, my mom looks at me like i'm scum. It's just fucking hair. I didn't go get a tattoo of FUCK YOU across my forehead, i don't come home high or drunk, its just fucking hair. She treats me like shit, and my dad and stepmom almost disowned me. How did you guys deal with getting a mohawk with conservative close minded parents? BTW i'm 16 and still in school, but going to job corps in the next months, so they don't even have to deal with me for much longer.

i still get looks from my mom everytime i see her she looks up then looks at me "want me to take u to get ur hair cut?" nope but she gets over it. dont cut urs off ur parents will soon learn that it is just hair and finally realize that it isnt hurting nobody

fuck what your parents think. im sure they will get over it ! like everyone else in the street that stops and stares! im a parent myself with a mohawk and get stared at constantly. you get used to it, and you learn to ignore it. its your hair dude, your 16, do what you want with it :) xXx

just got mine back, i told my aprents a few months ago i was getting it, but i think they thought i was just talking shit.
anyways, my dad came home and laughed and asked who shaved it.
then my mum came home and she laughed and was just like "your not gonna get in trouble at school are you?"
and they asked me how i put it up, and what i use and such. but like now a few days after having it they don't even notice it i don't think.

My dad was pretty cool with it actually he took me to get it done and chose the colours for it but my stepmum laughed..Still does now come to think of it.

My dad did like it till i started adding color to it, now he keeps asking me how much longer am i gonna waste my time and money with hair. I just shrugged and walked away, thats our relationship. When I first got it, he said if I was in highschool with him when he was my age, he would have to kick my ass. lol

My mom sponsored my hawk for my birthday. A few days ago I found out it's because last birthday I asked for a tattoo and she felt a 'hawk was the lesser of two evils. My stylist and her friend/client (also mothers) said they'd do the exact same thing if their child had asked for a tattoo first. Hey, whatever works, kiddies.
Also, she and everyone else thinks it looks "fashionable." o-o
