How do you cut a damn mohawk

Okay well here is the deal, I am getting a mohawk for the first time, it is about fucking time I say. I am trying not to fuck it up...to bad but need some opinions from the audience. That means all of you cool ass motherfuckers.

1) To get a good mohawk, what is a good length across for the strip. 3", 2", etc.
2) Does the strip need to be a uniform length from the top of the head to the back of the neck.
3) Is it better to shave the sides of your head completely or leave some fuzz.
4) And of course, what would a mohawk be without color. What color or colors?

1) I'd say about 2", but it's hard to say w/o a pic.
2) Should be uniform length to start with.
3) Personal preference, but I prefer shaved side. I shave the gead every day.
4) Color is a personal thing. Look at the pics of the members and get some ideas.

I would say 2'' is a good width. A good way to cut it yourself: Take a strip of duct tape, put it on you forehead and wrap it to the back of your head and cut the sides. I did it this way and it turned out perfect!

1. The guidelines i always went by was the mohawk should be about the gap inbetween your eye brows or so.
2. Should be uniform
3. I personally like a little bit of fuzz, but not to much...but it's all personal preference.
4. Color is your own thing...i've done blue, red, and will be going white very soon... Mix it up! As it goes for color, you can change color if going to a darker color, if it's is a more drastic change in the color scale, you'll have to re-bleach again. I do warn you that you shouldn't bleach your hair to much, as it does destroy you hair. I have found this new shampoo and conditioner that i really like from Garnier in thier Fructis line called "Strength and Repair". It does wonders for keeping your hair healthy, but also does a great job and stripping any color that is in your hair.

because of my crown which is what the part of the head is called where ur hair spilts! my mohawk is abit to the right and never in the middle! i get so teased about it but i would never cut it off!
