right i know everyone thinks this is balls. maybe someone on here knows someone who did it aswell, but my mate got a free playstation. fact.
i thought it was a scam, but googled it, and loads of people have got free stuff.
i wont explain myself, but if yu search it it explains that the advertisers pay (in bulk) for the items... etc...
so go here

If it's the result that claims that 'Free PS3 sites are legit as proved by...', that link gets a VERY poor rating on the Web of Trust service that reports peoples' experiences with the site.
If it's the first result...the usual scam with these offers, is they add in more than the price, over the high-priced, long contract periods or have other restrictions on terminating the contract and charging an early termination fee or if you go over your limits.
They couldn't afford the loss to give PS3's away to everyone taking up a mobile contract with them, if they didn't up the contract costs a LOT to cover it at least?!
A one off prize giver-away you can understand, but this sort of thing is common and it always works that most people end up paying for the PS3 through the imflated contract prices. They are all sorts of extra charges they might include - get your pal to read the small print!
Though, it's too late now...be careful!
Or perhaps it's another one, but nothing that expensive is given to lots of folk for free...they will get their money back somehow.
Anyway, this is off-topic, man. This is about what you are playing on PS3. =) So, what is your pal playing now?

nah, it's not a contract one like that, he signed up to a rental dvd site. after he received one dv rental, he cancelled the contract, then all it works on is people you reffer can sign up to the same offer and if they like it, they stay.
he really paid nothing to the site, and got to rent a film for free anyway.
but, i get what you mean though...

A very old scam...if it was that easy to cancel and still keep the PS3, the rental DVD company would be bust tomorrow! 'Cause everyone would want it and just refer and cancel - there just wouldn't be enough revenue made from the few that didn't to cover the costs of all those PS3's going out!
They must get around £500 (two PS3's, one to canceller, one to continuing subscriber) to cover one loss - whoa...that would add up quick! Considering renting DVD's is like £4 a month from legit DVD rental companies here. It'd take two and half years just to rake in enough to cover one PS3 lost and another to that subscriber with ZERO profit for the DVD rental outfit for two and half years! :/
It gets worse if the ratio is 1:3 subscribers to cancellers...
Even Sony has a hard time making a profit making them and selling them as is! They rely on the after-sale accessories and games we're chatting about here.

DEAD SPACE is a good ass game wait till the last boss fight!! dragonov and king kicks ass in tekken ,i never liked rpg's final fantasy I never could grasp the fun of pushing 1 button and then watch your character do everything lol and I keep hearing that red dead redemption is a really good game

Rediscovered the fantastic thing that is N64...been on a Turok, Duke Nukem, Mace-The Dark Ages kick lately. You could drop a bomb on the cartridges and they'd be fine, that system was built to last. As for newer stuff..Heavy Rain (part where you cut off your own finger is fucking brutal along with the power tool fight) and new AVP:Colonial Marines. Excited for New Vegas...disappointed with how the Xcom remake looks
