police brutality
well we went protesting today, loudly, but peacefull, the media has twisted it all saying we were carrying offensive weapons, and went into the bank to rob it. however,we were sat outside and the coppers just started dragging us around so when we decided to help our fallen comrades :) they hit us with the batons. one girl had to got to a&e for concussion, most of us got hit.
what i wanna know is what are your thoughts about this.
most people say it was just their job. BUT we didnt assault them in anyway (except for the usual ACAB chants :)

you can't lump in all cops and say that cops as a whole suck. I know that most of them go into the force genuinely looking to help people and uphold the law. the problem is that a couple years on the force and they start to see how much power they have being in that position. I've met some cps who hold true to defending the public part up until the day they die/retire and are genuinely amazing people who put their lives on the line every day, but I've also met some serious assholes who make it seem like you can never trust emergency response forces again. My cousin-- who is a cop-- told me that here, yes, cops actively profile people, punks included. S' a fucked up system but it's GOING TO BE when you give people a lethal weapon and tell them you're above the law to uphold it. You just get some fucked up people in there, and they ruin everybody's image.

ok So not all cops are bad. BUT when a peace officer is used as a political gambit, to repress human rights, then this is wrong. It is a democratic right to protest what you see as wrong, to gather in public assembly and denounce peacefully what you see is wrong wt the systems that you live within... All too often I'm seeing my friends(Non-Mohawks/non Indians) get their heads kicked in...and when they ask for help....all I can offer is this piece of advice... You have to communicate with the cops facing you. Otherwise, this shit continues to happen.
When we (MOHAWKS/Indians) protest, its all or nothing. We are backed into the corner already, there's no more we can afford to lose nor give up. The cops know it, the soldiers know it and the government knows it. When we take action, theres always the possibility for loss of life. Its been paid for in blood. We have the street cred. 2 prove it too! (IM NOT ADVOCATING VIOLENCE) I'm just telling the truth...google search: 1990 OKA CRISIS, IPPERWASH, GUSTAFSEN LAKE, PINERIDGE NORTH DAKOTA, ABORIGINAL DAY OF ACTION (Canada),and several other actions in North America .... Today we avoid cops beating us up and loss of life by telling the cops Where were peacefully protesting, how long we'll be there and why were doing it! We get our point across then go home. We don't vandalize, torch, or hurt innocent peeps for no reason, we make our point and leave. COMMUNICATION is key...

Fuck Them they openly repress freedom and individuality. The massive prisons built here in America are a sign or the war they are waging against us, most communication is lost leave that for the politicians. I can't speak for all area's but the area i reside is highly oppressed and the people here dont even want to risk signing their name on petitions for FEAR of the pigs. That means we have to take up the slack and push that much harder

Their gang is bigger and stronger in all ways than yours, you'll get totally ass invaded. The smart thing to do is give police no reason to arrest you and smile and act like they're not bothering you at all and if you have to complain then do it in a smart way and avoid all insults or curse words. That'll piss them off more than anything.
Fighting with words or actions will do little but get you locked up, jail time, hurt and fined.

They may be bigger and stronger, but what, we lay down and die like good little indians. We did get INVADED but were still here! No fucking way will I lay down and die, just cause its gonna hurt. Pain is life, blood means I'm alive. Jail time is a vacation....fined who cares, i can always earn more...
No there comes a time and place where you say no more...and you walk your talk! You pick your targets, set your strategy, draw a line and stand your ground. All I said is communicate IT. It being the reason why your there....I did not say placate the cops and give in....and play nice.
If they play nice, then yeah you play nice. Let them escalate the situation, BUT then you escalate to match them everytime, on every front....this gives credence, proof that you will do what you say...thats what keeps heavy handed cops n politicians in check!
