Anyone Noticing a Huge Influx of Spam Lately?
I rarely ever get comments on my profile, which is to be expected since I'm not really that active of a member (I've been busy).
However, up until this week, I saw no spam at all, and in the past 2 days, I've had 3 or 4 comments on my profile that were spam bots.
Anyone else seeing this?

Yup, we work fervently to stop them, and they've found a new way past our barriers I guess. The best thing everyone can do is to never click on their links or email them or anything. They are like the Bears in Yellowstone park, if you don't feed them then they are less likely to come sniffing around.
If you find a fake profile, email me and I will ban them for sure. I hate spammers. We have a few other members out there on the lookout as well as the onslaught gets bigger. Fact of the matter is that our site is popular and has a lot going on so they want in to sell whatever stupidity they are trying to sell or at least try to use our top Google ranking to put links back to their sites and help themselves out.

Yeah, it's pretty impossible to stop them these days, what with text-reading technology and all the progress it has made, captchas aren't worth a damn, not to mention just "hacking" into the site to create the profile (though it's not actually hacking into the site).
About the best measure is to ask a complicated question that any human can answer and have them type it in the box.Even that won't do much as all anyone has to do is just manually set up an account and then let a bot run it.
You know what really gets me though is? You know why they do that right? Because it is effective. There is enough people out there dumb enough to fall for it that it is worth it for them to spam. Ridiculous. Where should I go to report fake profiles? Or is there a link on the profile page in question?

There are always folk dumb or bored enough to actually click the links, sadly they don't realise the possible Pandora's box they are opening and also encouraging more spam too.

I'm getting spam bots too!!! I haven't been on in awhile because I am busy, but I get e-mail notifications and I got 2 females appearantly interested in me and wanting me to e-mail them back and shit like that. I fucking hate spam! What's the point? Are people that bored? I mean... it's not even good for advertisement because no one pays attention to it and once you know it's spam, you never want to click on it again.

Well that's the problem, there is a point to it because it does work because there are HUNDREDS of THOUSANDS of people dumb enough to fall for it.

Well, apparently it must be really AWESOME to have herpes, have you ever seen those Valtrex commercials? They all have herpes and they look like they're the happiest people in the world...

That's perfect.
They have dating sites for everything now. There's a website where you can go and try to date a cougar, dating sites for old people, dating sites for uh, oh mentally ill (yeah, that's real smart - one I know of is No Longer Lonely).
