For the millionth time. You and everyone else. Please do research before posting about the "how to's". There are a million of them on here with the same exact problem. Do some digging, then come back with a unique problem- those are the fun ones to answer.

The same people will tell you the same thing over and over again. Promise. Not trying to sound harsh, but I could post you several links within the month of "Help! I can't get my mohawk to stand up!" and the "Should I do it?"

There are video's, how to's, tutorials, and millions of personal experience tips. (I'm sure you'll find several from me too) So have fun and do some exploring. The site is generally pretty rad.
personally, i straighten, comb it out while hanging upside down, then put it up in three section (front, middle, back), grab first section, spray the shit out of the base, blowdry (repeat for middle, and back), then go back and finish off the sections by spraying all the tips and spikin em up. Hope that helps
thanks.. i'll try it (:
looks like two things:
1) your using too much product without drying it properly.
2) your hair has a natural curl in the area(as does mine. the little spiral)

basically, comb your hair properly before doing it. once you get to the spot. get your comb in position pull hard on your scalp, spray the base. well still holding blow dry completely. without letting go spray the middle and the top, and blow dry(well still holding your comp and pulling upwards) blow dry completely . dont use TOO much product, just enough. its gonna hurt your arm cuz its a weird angle, but you get used to it.

if that dose't work, im not really sure what will, try straightening it.

basically repeating what christian said. just i egt the same thing sometimes, the area is NEVER lined up with the rest of my hawk, i have to work most on that place and its always a little to the left of the rest of the hawk(you stair straight at my face and u see a little hair poking out the left)

Do the most rebellious section FIRST.

If it doesnt work, comb & blow dry it out and re-gel it. The old gel will leave the surface of the hair more ready to stick. (hard to put into words, but it works for me.)
it looks like your using gel.. if thats the case then stop it haha. use hair spray, do a good coating then blowdry it well. dont rush it and your rebellious sections should behave. if it still clumps together brush it out after it dries and then go back and try putting it up again, that should help make it stronger and, hopefully, clump free

You said that already...
I thought this was a new thread, but that it also felt really familiar.
Now I know why.
i'm going to take a gander and say that if it won't stand up the first time, you keep adding more product to the parts that won't go up?

DON'T.

Product on the tips just weighs them down and makes it harder to get up. Majority of product needs to be at the base. That's your foundation. THEN work it up into the tips remembering to hold the hair straight and blow it after each pass. When it comes to the very tips, less is more. You don't need a ton, you just need to dry it properly.

Also i find that it's easier to do a 'hawk the night before, then sleep on your side. When you get up in the morning, everything will be fully dry and you can go in for touch ups. It's a lot stronger the more dry-time you give it.
