Mohawks Rock

Well shit i have noticed this place isn't very active, come on guys lets do stuff.

Anyways, I was wondering if anyone on here also gets straight up harassment about their hair. Whether its getting called gay, lesbian, dyke, butch, or just plain out harassed.. anything of the matter.

There are these hicks in a big truck who drive around and I am usually with my boyfriend, and each time they yell "Who has the dick?"

So who else here gets shit like that?

Hey V.....those Hicks are just jealous.....of course they can't say they like your Hawk in front of their so called "friends", but who cares....I had one customer come in and asked if I didn't like girls....guess that was supposed to infer I was Gay? For the most part, I just hand it back at them in a more sophisticated way and they usually are too stupid to get what I am saying, so just shut up. I love my Hawk, and I honestly don't care what someone else thinks about it. For the most part, people like it! Your Hawk is really awesome, so don't pay any attention to less intelligent people that are puppets of Society! :-)

I hear ya....living in a small town in the south. I get shit mostly just from friends running their mouths but yeah random guys yell at me like at the gas station the other night I was hanging outside while my man went in and all in like ten minutes or less a couple of guys calling me a freak and I flipped em the bird they called me a dyke and drove off..
fucking rednecks then some dude with a faux hawk said he liked my hair lol so I was like that equals out XD So it happens, fuck em.

It is always so awesome when someone says they "love your hair".....I took my 7 year old son to the Fair last week, and there was a girl, must have been maybe 16, she was with a couple friends, and as they walked by me she said "I like your hair". Such a small thing, but it just felt so damn good! Then we were standing along the side of Main street watching the Parade, and a couple people that were in the Parade as they went by, also said they liked my Hawk! So those two or three compliments wipe out like 10 insults and just make me love my Hawk even more! :-)

I'm just gonna pop in the middle here because wow your hicks/hillbillys/rednecks are fucking weird. Either that or I have the completely wrong idea here. (that's probably it) We have a lot of people like your describing in South California but we've always described them as ignorant white trash, not that I'm not white trash...I am and there's no denying it...just they're especially fucked in the head.

You know what...I have no fucking clue what I'm talking about...

------ I'm bred from that breed of hick.

Glamour, XD gotta love the pic!

I live in a small town too with a lot of close minded people. Surprisingly though I've never actually had some random person come up to me and say anything negative about my hair. Although my hair did cost me my job at one point in time. They said it wasn't conservative enough to meet with their standards so they told me I needed to change it or no longer work there. (and I didn't even put it up for work) They also claimed to have had customers complain about it but almost every customer I had while working there complimented my hair.

Hi, my name is Candace.  I have a long history of harrasment, all kinds of abuse and thats when i have not had a hawk/shave head.  Since I have had a shaved head and also a hawk , I have to watch what I wear.  Even when I wear summery close and go out to the bar during an afternoon jam, I get my heaed touched from behind and my hips touched sexually and woman lifting up my shirt in the womans bathroom, saying "Oh this looks better and more pretty without the shirt".   I never ask for advice.  i feel very violated and i get triggers and sometimes mood swings and flash backs.  What I have done for myself is try to wear hads and hide it.   Only wear when I know I am strong to deal with the shit and only when going to friends.  Or when out away from the main city.  Lke nature.  Go out in a group of hawks sometimes.  know you are beautiful and for me i wear hats alot.  I try to act like a lady and hold myself that way.  I know i am a wild child.  i know that most of the time I am a lady.  Have lady days and dress up.  you owe it to yourself.  Girl,  if you ever want to talk.  Anyone. about harrassment , you can share with me.  I have people act different towards me just because of my hair.  People think black is scary.  if you have a sleek black oufit you are all good. If you ahve anything different than that , yah know and also with tattoos , that you are wild and that you  crave and love the attention. That its ok to touch you, even when thats wrong.  No , it is not ok,. I don't fucking know you. You fuckface. Touch me again and I will kill you.  You don't have their full name , you can't press charges. Look I was a beautiful calm woman when before I had my hawk.  Now I have a bad habit of swearing and I feel the need to fight back. I yell, scream, kick.  IS THIS WHAT PEOPLE THINK HAWKS ARE!!!!! Man, they got it all wrong, we are all individuals with individual experiences and experiment with life in different ways.  Along with different genes.  I am trying to be a lady again, calm down, cuz I can't take my angry outbursts.  I want my life back. Well, Veronique Vex,  I know how you feel.  I started to change my mind to positive things  like I know I can do.  Yesterday, i had someone say lovingly out a window to me, for real, i was not wearing anything special. "I Love You".  I felt so good for once.  i want to say that there are older woman in my city in their 50-60s with hair like a hawk.  That we are the higher people.   Just don't carry it too high.   Not the hawk. But the feelings.  How to show.  people should only just sa, hey man, cool hawk.  for me, i am learning how to get around people when I don't want to talk, with still holding good karma.   i gotta say also that the history of the mohawk, is not a good one.  going back to the mohawk tribe.  In heart we are strong.  We won't fight it.  I hope I never become a technology born person wearing all the same clothes and blah being like they are. even though some I love.  In my heart, I know I like to be different either way.  I love to play.  Dressup, is one and I love to imagine.   I am trying to be close to that.  Umm    Yeah equality to both sexes!!!!!!! :P :P :P We have equal hearts and to those woman out there who need to hear this! We have dicks too!!!  It doesn't mean we are trying to be stronger than men.  Know one owns this Hawk.  Ummm,   just be yourself and if you don't care , just go near trees and howl like a wolf.    The differemces in sexes changed along time ago and i am not going to stick my middle finger out at you all anymore.       Hope i did not say anything wrong.   thanks for the forem veronique Vex.               always and forever Marie Raven Mctavish

PS I never read any other messages on here before i wrote this, straight from the heart

Thats really inspiring of you. I had thought of changing my hair back to whats considered normal just because my parents gave me so much hell about it. I still live at home and just graduated high school 2 years ago and im a hairstylist, so naturally i like to defy what is normal and expirament. I just fell in love with my mohawk from the first time i had this haircut. my parents have never motivated me to do hair I had to find all that inspiration in friends and myself. But sometimes their being crappy to me just makes me wanna keep the hawk even more and go more crazy with it just to defy them and rebel. Ive also got other issues that go along with it, like the fact that my biological dad is a piece of shit and sometimes i feel like my step dad doesnt fully appreciate me or like me. and i feel like he likes my siblings more bcuz theyre more normal and theyre his kids. im just so different its like i dont fit at my house sometimes with my family. im also pretty laid back and theyre kinda high strung, its kind of a toxic enviroment sometimes when they yell and shit.

I'm sorry you have had to come into contacts with such poor excuses for human beings

I get shit about my hair everyday almost. by my own parents. mom and dad hate it, and mom always tries to get me to quit shaving my hair off on the sides telling me it looks bad. glad im not the only one who gets pissed about people giving me shit. I work in a salon and ive even had customers give me crap, but its usually older ones. I grew up living in the sticks so i totally get where ur coming from on rednecks, some are nice, some aren't. Ive been picked on and harassed my whole life for being different. But you just have to remember that if your hair makes your self confidence go up then its good for you & ignore those douches that give you nasty comments. (:

I'd have to say that people only give me crap 50% of the time when they see my hawk. the other 50% love it and it has even attracted customers to the salon for me! people come inside the salon and have high fived me for it and complimented me often. Its just the old women that find it weird or masculine, but they're old fashioned & all look like damn poodles so i just don't give a shit

just tell them to bend over and you'll show them :)

I havnt had a hawk long, today going out to dinner will only be the second time I have worn it up. First time I got some strange looks, two people asked to touch it (which I let them of course lol) three kids said I was awesome and some lady looked like she was taking a picture at a distance with her phone (if she would have just asked I would have happily let her take a picture up close)

We shall see how tonight goes!
