Girl 'hawks!

For women with mohawks and mohicans. Men welcome.

  • Giant Mohawk Man

I can't believe we didn't have a girl mohawks group yet! Glad you created this Joey, and glad you let guys join, since I think girl hawks ROCK!
  • Liz Strangler

i get "why dont u want to grow your hair long" and things like that. sometimes people think its cool, but i live in the bible belt so i mostly get negative reactions.or people think im a lesbian which i have no problem with; although im married and have a ring on my finger. i guess it just shows how stupid they are. lol.
  • Leigh Eloise

Aaaah, here it doesn't stop the lesbianism label, even if you have a ring on your finger, 'cause same-sex marriages happen here, which I love! ...Yeah, everyone I give a damn about has gone 'Oooohmygawd, your hair looks too sexy for words!', but a few people I've known forever and don't really like have gone 'Oh, whaddya look like?' which doesn't bother me a bit.

In fact, this one guy I've known since I was really little, used to fancy me and everything, then turned into a total vanilla-bore, I saw him on Tuesday and he actually took a step back and went 'Ohmygod.' then walked off.

My friend Toni asked me 'How do you deal with that?'
My reply: 'With great ease and efficiency. He's a cockface. Bottom line.'
  • Shawn

I think more girls should get them! I used to go to school with a girl that had one and that was before mine but shes the only girl that Ive known that actually did that and I think its awsome! xD
  • Cherry Bomb

this chick at my school had one too,and i had always wanted one so i finally shaved it 3 days ago and i couldnt be happier.
  • pierced_punked_kitten

Yes, it is quite a liberating feeling as a woman to do something like this. Even though more women are coming out of their shells and getting mohawks and shaved heads, we still are a rare breed.
  • Cherry Bomb

people arent AS judgemental as the y used to be,imagine walking around with a hot pink mohawk in the 50's
    HAHA
  • Joey

It's still seen by many as a masculine thing. When I first shaved the sides off my best friend's reaction was "Oh my god you've cut yourself a boy's mohawk, you fool! You're gonna get he'd so much now!" This from a guy who was rocking his own mohican at the time...
  • Joey

OMFG this got very big very fast!
  • Colleen

I'm a girl with a hawk. I love it more than any other hairstyle I've ever had. I wanted one for years but I always just thought it was a guy's hairstyle and one day I just said fuck that shit I'm getting one :)
  • emerika

i fucking love my hawk...but i always rocked a chelsea in high school...fuck yeah hawk bitches are bad bitches...keep on rockin ladies
  • Cherry Bomb

i think that chicks with mohawks are THE bravest chicks ever.
took me a while to shave my head.
    but i did it.
    and let me tell you.
it feels amazing, and everyone ive met loves it.
  • Syd

i love my mowie. sometimes get a few comments of "she must be a shit mum cos look at her hair and tattoos!" when im walking with my daughter. but i really couldnt give a shit. i know im a good mum, with or without a mowhawk and ink. Just wish people wouldnt be so judgemental.
  • emerika

    we dont fit in.....embrace it!!!!!!!!!
  • Cherry Bomb

    i second sarahs comment
  • Freaky_Ferret

I LOVE my hawk! It's taking some getting used to the buzzed sides since I've always had fairly long hair, but this will fucking rock in the summer :P
  • Becki

    yep, completely agree with sarah
  • Nikki

Im 37 and still sport'n the hawk.. I get lots of comments and lots of OMG! Grow up already!! I'll probably die with a hawk lol
  • crunchy

anywho horray for boobs and mojawks
  • leggo

    god bless mohawks (:
  • Katarina

Too bad about your girlfriend, Axiom. You know, pants used to be a "man's thing". The bob haircut used to be a "man's thing". Working outside the house used to be a "man's thing"...the times are a'changin'!

I happen to think that Mohawks don't look boyish or manly. Usually the shaved sides brings out a woman's natural beauty. The cheekbones, lips, and eyes become more gracefully prominent. Its like stripping back any illusions of beauty and forcing the person to look at you in a more naturalistic sense.
  • Ska_Punk

I got mine yesterday (sort of) my boyfriend is having to sort it out properly though tomorrow. my pic makes it look like too much of a fohawk :(
  • Joey

Ugh! My work made me dye out the purple. It's now midnight blue, so dark it looks black half the time.

    Cunts!
  • Kat...

i love my mohawk but the rest of my family doesnt :( but screw em eh XD
  • Khaos

    Good morning ladies! (and gentlemen!)
  • Amy

I just put my hair up for the first time yesterday! I was so excited, and now I can't see wanting it down again! although the cutting of the sides will have to wait, I'm still happy
  • Khaos

    YAY! Go amy!
  • Amy

alright girls (and awesome guys too)! ive done it! ive made the plunge! i cut the sides of my hair! I feel so awesome right now and have gotten so many compliments! even my stubbornly conservative dad had to admit i looked pretty cute in the picture i sent him ^.^
  • Khaos
