i backcomb my roots first, then spray with something cheap like superdrug 88p or bristows, then i wet my hands and smooth it all out, then use g2b spiking glue (just a tad) and smooth it more then put more water on my hands and smooth it again etc. (adding water makes it harder and also less buiklt up looking, and weighs your hair down much less than using the glue alone.

blow dry my hair, flat iron, then tease and spray with perfoma hairspray and shape it...

Did mine a couple of months ago, always wanted one and finally plucked up the courage, I get pretty good comments, even from my folks who were like 'i'm not too sure about the style but it really suits you' :D hehe Sooo so glad i did it, next step, bring on the dye :)

i've used got2b loads of times, but the formula has changed recently and its not as good as it used to be :( but if you want crazy-good hold for basicaly no moneys, try Rave 4X :3 its like, 2 bucks, dries fast ad ive kept my deathhawk up for DAYS using only that, a bit of root booster and a teasing brush :)

yeah john frieda hairspray is around 5 bucks but it only takes me about 5 min to put my hawk up in the mornin :)

When I wake up in the morning my mohawk is pretty much already standing up and stays that way until I put a hat on (and it bounces right back when I take it off). Yay for being black!

NYC is the best city in the states as far as I'm concerned (and I've been a lotta places) so if you HAVE to be in the US against your will you should be DAMN thankful that you don't have to live in some ignorant ass place like in the south where I come from. @Tiller Ezekielpoop is right, the ads on mohawksrock are run by an automated engine. That engine says hey this page is about "girls", "mohawks", "fun hair colors" or something like that. Then advertisers bid against each other to show their ads on pages with those keywords. Probably the christian girl ad was bidding the highest amount for pages about "girls" at the time you saw it. In this model the advertiser only pays when their ad is clicked.
