Rocking now, Rocked in the past, Thinking about rocking it sometime, Just like watching others rock them
Relationship Status:
Married
About Me:
Started MohawksRock.com in November 2007, after finding it hard to find a good amount of information on how to actually make a mohawk. In the sites first year we have had over 1 Million hits from 150+ countries and 1000 members. Since then we have had 10,000,000+ pages viewed in 200+ countries with our top cities being London, NYC, Dublin, L.A. and Sydney.
I apologize if it takes me awhile to get back to you on comments or emails. I really do try to get back to everyone. After the first 1000 members I haven't been able to add everyone as a friend, but if you have joined, you are definitely a friend so feel free to add me too.
If you have a mohawk you know what its like to be looked at funny and even ostracized or admired. Keep this in mind on here and have respect for the different viewpoints of members here. We all have something more in common than awesome hair and that is an extreme sense of self and individualism. That sometimes causes arguments and harsh feelings, but remember they are as you are.
Finally, promote the site! Put links back to the site wherever you find necessary. The more active members we have the better information we will have and the more collective influence we will have. Tell your mom, dad, friends and co-workers. Lets unite a community of seemingly sparse individuals across the world.
How Tall Are You With and Without the Mohawk:
I'm 6'11 without the mohawk, and I'm typically over 8' tall with it standing, as I don't cut it below 13 inches just for this reason. Currently the hawk is around 20 inches putting me at 8'7 taller than Leonid Stadnyk (8'5), the worlds tallest man.
Well, I was amazed the domain name was still available in November 2007, so I bought it and started up this social network for all those that love mohawks.
So it went down with two friends, one with a hairdryer and one with a can of Aquanet...we were quite amazed actually that it stood up as long as it did!
haha yeah it's a great town. I love it. And thanks for the welcoming since I' m new here :D. SICK ASS HAWK you got going on man. Yeah check out that music, if you're into metal I can show you endless amounts of bands.
Although almost all my songs on my profile are death metal, or a form of black or thrash. If you're not into that I got plenty other varieties of metal haha.
Hi!! Thanks for welcome - this is a very instressting site here.
No - there are nearly no mohawks here in austria.
None of my friends or acquaintances has a mohawk....many of them don“t like it.
but they will not persuade me to cut it off :-)
hey thanks i will definitely im going to start a podcast soon if you dont mind im sure you wont but if you dont mind id like to shout out your site im not askin for anything just to basicly advertise your site
my tattoo has taken me 14 all together...i want gunna get that one i went for sumthing else but them i saw that nd i chose that insted lol ..i go in for 2 hours at a time
hey thanks...it is a really cool site. i've been rocking the hawk for about a year and no one else had one. now everyone in raleigh has one lol!!! i get a lot of compliments though but i also get crazy looks (who cares). nc is too conservative. nyc here i come. btw your hair is awesome
why thank you.
I pretty much forgot what you said on your comment but all I can tell you is that the punk scene, here in Israel, is very much alive.. there's a gig pretty much every weekend or so and half of the shows I've been to were to promote new bands and such which proves what I just said.
it's seriously awesome.
Thanx for the support man!! I've had small fans back in the day, but the spikes are my fav. It was crazy easy to do them and I think I'll be rocking them for a while. Let me know when you put that monster hair up into liberty spikes, it's gonna look killer!!!!!
I read somewhere on here where you told someone that you thought people might be stumbling upon your website after looking up Knox on search engines! Well I just wanted to let you know that is exactly how I found your site!!! So maybe you can use that info...who knows, figured I'd let you know though.
thanks, good to be here
and yeah, i hear that dreadhawks are pretty hard to find any info about, and i have straightened my hair, but ill probly upload a pic up once i get my camera fixed so people can get an idea on what im working with....but when i say its curly, i mean its insanely curly, lol
no my story isnt that rock n roll! i do set the metel things off in airports but thats only my wheelchair lol! god i wish in uk it would stop raining i havent being able to rock the mo hawk in days :'(
WSV is really good. I was surprised myself because I wasn't expecting to hear anything that good. Just came in form nowhere. Gotta love that.
I'm considering Empire Beauty School depending on how much it will cost and if I can skip the hair lessons. I hate doing my own hair. I only suggest and strongly so. I just wont do it, lol. I'd like to learn more about makeup since I already do that and style for a friend of mine who models.
Thanks for the welcome- for that matter, thanks for starting all this! Sorry I took so long to get back but I was working on getting my 'Hawk back and this AM, I did! Had a local barber do it and it's a definite improvement on my original DIY effort. As soon as I get my camera working I'll upload images. Mine's nowhere near as awesome as some here, but it's an unmistakable Mohawk.
Had it done at the Barber of Guerneville, and he told me he's done several around there recently. Northern California in general and west Sonoma County in particular is really accepting of all sorts of body mods.
Eyo thanks for the comment :) drunkenmonkey was the photography that took the picture. He does like local punk and rockabilly bands photos and he took 1 of me doing sum sweet skanking :)
No, actually, I just wanted to get some images up showing what I have... I actually didn't notice the effect until I saw the slide show run on the website, but it's cool how it worked out... By the way, Linux is an entire operating system, based on UNIX. It can totally displace Windows from a hard drive and run almost any computing device (these days, Linux boxes are most often DVR's- both my former Directv's TiVo and my current Dish Network DVR run Linux).
Yes, Ubuntu is what's known as a "distro"- that is, the Linux OS (sometimes called the Kernel) itself plus a bunch of applications to make it useful, such as the X Windows system (creates a graphic user environment- all the point and click instead of doing everything from the command line) and the Firefox browser. For me personally, I've been running SuSE, which was originally developed in Germany and is now known as OpenSUSE, because it always comes with LOTS of applications and always seems to Just Work. ALso, distrowatch carries an exhaustive lists of Linux distros.
Oh yeah as to the cut, thanks again... Worth the $20 ($14 plus a generous tip)- I imagine in much of the country barbers would be uptight about Mohawks, so I'm thankful to be here.
Yeah, went to the game yesterday and the Tigers won. I think they are putting it together. They've brought up some pretty good rookies from Toledo.
Had great seats, row 17 behind home.
