Relationship Status:

About Me:
Started MohawksRock.com in November 2007, after finding it hard to find a good amount of information on how to actually make a mohawk. In the sites first year we have had over 1 Million hits from 150+ countries and 1000 members. Since then we have had 10,000,000+ pages viewed in 200+ countries with our top cities being London, NYC, Dublin, L.A. and Sydney.

I apologize if it takes me awhile to get back to you on comments or emails. I really do try to get back to everyone. After the first 1000 members I haven't been able to add everyone as a friend, but if you have joined, you are definitely a friend so feel free to add me too.

If you have a mohawk you know what its like to be looked at funny and even ostracized or admired. Keep this in mind on here and have respect for the different viewpoints of members here. We all have something more in common than awesome hair and that is an extreme sense of self and individualism. That sometimes causes arguments and harsh feelings, but remember they are as you are.

Finally, promote the site! Put links back to the site wherever you find necessary. The more active members we have the better information we will have and the more collective influence we will have. Tell your mom, dad, friends and co-workers. Lets unite a community of seemingly sparse individuals across the world.
How Tall Are You With and Without the Mohawk:
I'm 6'11 without the mohawk, and I'm typically over 8' tall with it standing, as I don't cut it below 13 inches just for this reason. Currently the hawk is around 20 inches putting me at 8'7 taller than Leonid Stadnyk (8'5), the worlds tallest man.

Other tall people should also check out the site The Tall Street Journal

How did you find MohawksRock.com
Well, I was amazed the domain name was still available in November 2007, so I bought it and started up this social network for all those that love mohawks.

I have 2 wacom tablets and do all my own web design and programming. I'd be more then pleased to add incite or ideas to this site. I'm also looking for a more full time job or a group project to work on, as I get bored doing nothing during the downtime.

Well...at punk shows here, they're somewhat common for guys, and I've rarely seen them on girls. If you aren't at a show, you generally only see really short mohawks on guys and their sides aren't normally buzzed or completely bald. I haven't seen one on a girl in the general public. The most common mohawk-like hair you'll see is that semi-mohawk/fauxhawk haircut where a thick patch is sort of loosely combed up but it doesn't look very bold or shocking. Kind of like a metrosexual mohawk, if you know what I'm saying, haha.
  • bahaw

thank you for saying that.. my parents didnt like my new hair cut though.. but that's okay.. to hell with them.. hehe..
  • jonese

Dude just found this site. http://wordle.net/ Soo cool, and yes i'm still getting "some" work done :)
  • LunaticHawk

thanks for your greeting.. actually it was surprise me when i found this site.. i think it's so cool.. in indonesia, we call it mohawk.. i found many mohawks in here but not as much as in there because many people in here dont like it.. when i cut my hair into mohawk at the first time, many people looked at me strangely... but i dont care... TO HELL WITH THEM... :) my hair is still short n i want to make them longer... once again, thanks bro.. :)
  • Jort de Groot

    love youre bigass mohawk!
  • LittleMissFang

hiya, thanks for the comment on my pic ...to answer your question re:lip peircings......

I use standard labrets ,flat metal at the back...i had them done before everyone was teeth and gum obsessed ...yes i will admit that my gums directly touching them have receeded , but i got them too long ago and trying to fix something that already broken beyond repair is a waste of time lol...funnily enough though it was the rings i had before the labrets that wore down my gum...be warned kids ...be smart with your jewelery choices!
  • Mohawk Mike

It was taken right by my front porch in Lake Hughes.
  • tiggy

Really? It was one of the first songs i heard by them, if i remember correctly. It is a bomb song though.
Im so tired, but we leave for Arizona at 2 so i just decided to stay awake instead of getting only like 3 hours of sleep.
  • Smidged

The pics were actually taken in or around a local photographers studio. He booked a shoot w/ me cuz he fell in love w/ my hawk. :)
  • Kerri

Hey, im just about an hour outside of toronto, its a pretty chill place
  • Anna

Thanks for the welcome. It's good to be here. I was checking the site out for a while before getting the 'hawk, for ideas mostly, but ending up going my own way with the clippers, lol. Pretty busy place, for being founded less than a year ago! Awesome.
  • Bob

In a few words... Kwame's a crook and a racist. Of course, I live in the 'burbs, so I'm automatically biased.
I really only go into Detroit for Tigers games or theater, and occassionally a club. The city has so much potential, but Detroit city politics and the city vs suburbs mentality has thwarted most of it. The 'burbs want a solid downtown Detroit, but we keep being told 'we want your money, not your presence.'
Usually don't get political here, but you did ask.
BTW, going to try a color contrast on the tips of the 'hawk.
  • M Tom

thanks. I mostly chill in flushing, and manhattan.
  • Leslie

Thanks for the welcome Mohawk Man!

I'm working on getting the hawk working just right. I'm thinking of getting a pattern (just a nice 60's swirly thing or something) done on the shaved sides and am looking for ideas, so feel free to send me links with some good pics.
  • Jack

  • Emily

Quite a bit actually. I need to implement the word verbiation though. It seems to be standard practice to say verbiage. Could be an experiment to just start using it and see if anyone else begins saying it as well. Please disregard my still non-creative page.
  • Talia

Thanks for the welcome. =) I adore your mohawk, but I'm sure you get compliments on it every day. Thanks for the heads up about the discussion, very thoughtful of you.
  • Adam, Mohawked LMT

Oh Ika is Squid in japanese. Its from this weird movie called calamari wrestler, where this squid man wins the japanese world wrestling title. Its hilarious.
  • Fizz

Thanks for the welcome! And yes, it's a friend's chameleon. The picture actually came out quite cool, so I've been using it as an icon lately!
  • Adam, Mohawked LMT

Love the site by the way, All the posts and everything have really upped my hair game. All the tips an pics are giving me great ideas on what I can do with my mohawk. Much love man.
  • Cassy

Thanks! Actually I have quite a few friends with dyed hair, I just change it much more frequently than any of them.
I have a question, what is a mohawk with bangs and then about an inch and a half length of hair on the sides, kind of a chealsea mixed with a mohawk and a pixiecut?
  • Adam, Mohawked LMT

I think its awesome that you greet everysingle person on here. ON top of that you actually personalize each greeting. Tom can eat his heart out.
  • Fivos

Haha, let me un-confuse you. I was born in NZ, and have been brought up here all my life as of late. My last name is London, and I hold a high interest in the history of England, etc. Thus gave birth to AmyOfLondon. =]
You see, I'm a Queen in my own mind. ;P
