So I've had my hawk for a while now. When I first had it done co workers and friends were a little shocked and I told them atleast for the summer I will keep this look. Now it's really a part of me, I don't think it's going anywhere.

I found though that after a couple of attempts that I don't like to put it up. My hair is long and the styles I've adopted don't include fanning or spiking. I love the way it looks on other people but I almost feel guilty!

Anyway I love mohawks in all shapes, I just have my own take on them.

    ummmm...well..there is one thing you can try...like..if its not to long...you can use some stuff called SPIKE IT.. its a red gel color....it works rele good...or some stuff called SHORT SEXY HAIR..its a blue colored gel and thats what i use..but if its like..8inces or higher...i recomend using wax paper..if ur interested..comment back...

    OK..LIKE..U STRAIGHTEN ur hair...get an even stack of books and ajust it depending on how fanned out u want ur hair to be...lay ur head down flat on the table..lay your hair down ontop of wax paper...then iron ur hair ontop of the wax paper...wait till its melted and formed onto ur hair evenly and completely...wait for it to dry...now..turn ur head and hair the opposite side..and repeat..put wax under the unwaxed side and do the same as u did to the other side...make shure that the books are sprayed with no stick spray..like..pam or..something,....now.when its done...it should be high...strong...flexible..and fanned out..it will hold untill u wash it out with normal shampoo and conditioner......but..it looks great and its a sturdy and flexible hold...its been a way of keeping big mohawks fanned out since the eary 80's...but i recommend getting someone to iron ur hair for you if u do do it...cause its rele hard to do ur self..believe me...and it sux if u miss..but itll work for i think....up to 3 foot high mohawks....but the higher....the more wax paper...plus...it doesnt damage ur hair...suprisingly..well..it didnt effect mine or my friends...     Talk about curls! You seem to have had a good wave going on before your cut too :) Nice. Having curls was one of the reasons I cut mine in the first place, but they persist! Your action cut pictures are rocking, hope you're enjoying your hawk.

    I hear you about the rain! We have more muggy/humid days come summertime, and that doesn't help height with the hair (especially when you're still battling the curl!) I never got into the straighting much, occasionally crimping (it's shameful, I know, but fun.) Have fun experimenting ;-)

    deff understandable! i dont think even the most expierenced people can put a hawk up much longer then their own arms. my first hawk was only around 5 inches and i sucked at putting up for a long time! first trys normally dont even stand haha but since yours at least stood long enough for a badass picture its an epic first try hawk! hell its an epic hawk by any means!!

    yeah that was the other thing while i was up there! not only was it crazy cold but it rained the whole damn time! then on top of that my daddy was sick , the plane ride was horrible and i had to be the flower girl in my uncles wedding haha. not the best trip.. :P

    its not perfect here :P its been humid and gross lately! we always tend to get other peoples left over hurricanes so that it doesnt really storm but it gets nasty out! no skin cancer for me :P haha im about as pale as a so cal chick can get XD sunblock is my friend!

    i might visit again someday.. my uncle is always trying to get me to come stay with them for awhile but im not a huge fan of my aunt haha. awe, no hes okay now.. i think it was just like the flu or something like that. im sorry to hear about your daddy though, doll.
