About Me:: Started MohawksRock.com in November 2007, after finding it hard to find a good amount of information on how to actually make a mohawk. In the sites first year we have had over 1 Million hits from 150+ countries and 1000 members. Since then we have had 10,000,000+ pages viewed in 200+ countries with our top cities being London, NYC, Dublin, L.A. and Sydney.

I apologize if it takes me awhile to get back to you on comments or emails. I really do try to get back to everyone. After the first 1000 members I haven't been able to add everyone as a friend, but if you have joined, you are definitely a friend so feel free to add me too.

If you have a mohawk you know what its like to be looked at funny and even ostracized or admired. Keep this in mind on here and have respect for the different viewpoints of members here. We all have something more in common than awesome hair and that is an extreme sense of self and individualism. That sometimes causes arguments and harsh feelings, but remember they are as you are.

Finally, promote the site! Put links back to the site wherever you find necessary. The more active members we have the better information we will have and the more collective influence we will have. Tell your mom, dad, friends and co-workers. Lets unite a community of seemingly sparse individuals across the world.
How Tall Are You With and Without the Mohawk:: I'm 6'11 without the mohawk, and I'm typically over 8' tall with it standing, as I don't cut it below 13 inches just for this reason. Currently the hawk is around 20 inches putting me at 8'7 taller than Leonid Stadnyk (8'5), the worlds tallest man.

How did you find MohawksRock.com: Well, I was amazed the domain name was still available in November 2007, so I bought it and started up this social network for all those that love mohawks.

I've noticed that the latest activity Mohawk's Rock RSS feed the last couple days is not working right - every link has an extra http://http:// which gets redirected to http://www.htttp.com which according to Web of Trust plugin has a very bad reputation for scam/spams.

during workouts and practice, i'll generally have it in a ponytail. looks kinda odd cause it'll make a big afro puff on the back of my head. but for meets and other competitions, i'll have it done in one big cornrow. which doesn't actually look all that bad.

yeah, the cornrows are the best for that. they don't catch any wind what so ever. i hardly ever notice i have hair when i have that done.

I'm a little bit lazy with RSS, I just use the inbuilt RSS bookmark folder feature of Firefox. So, the MR latest activity shows as a dropdown on my links toolbar and I can instantly see any updates and jump to them.

It's handy, since the RSS feed updates every 10 mins or so, I just dropdown the list of activity headlines from any site I'm on and see any I'm interested in and instantly get to MR direct in a new tab with a middle-click.

so i posted a crappy picture on here almost a year ago.. and apparently it will never go away. all you have to do is google dyingfaerie, and it's the first image. this is really frustrating to me, that i cannot delete it, because it's on ning. i've changed my profile pic, i've changed my name on here... nothing will effect it. now i've sent you a mesasge saying i wanted my account deleted but there is no "my network settings" link as indicated on faq.. but you won't respond. can my pic ever be deleted?

I do, really. It's sad. I've been quietly lurking on here, and watching things more than anything else (except for playing with my penguin Reeko on SPP on facebook). The night chats are quiet now, since kayla has more or less left us and the boys don't come on at the same time anymore either.
I work a few hours a week during the day and about 35 a week overnights, so it worked in my favor.
No school is just rotting my brain!!! So I'm sure I'll think of something incredibly ridiculous to write up instructions for.. or some weird projects. Time will only tell!

Hey dude, Loving the whole "online mohawk community" idea.

I gotta ask, what do you use to keep your hawk up? Mine's no where near as long as yours (probably about 8") and I find it's hard to keep up (I have to do liberty spikes, as I find they're stronger).

That is crazy! I looked up custom gifts and everything, which we can do, but people have to pay for them. Which is silly, since the site doesn't pay you for them, you should be able to set them as "free". Ah well. I've noticed some people are using them though! I think others might need to warm up to it.

I really do hope people do realize that they can upload photos...haha. It's only part of every tool bar we use when commenting on anything.
