Fanning with dirty hair??
Does it still work as good for any of you out there?
I've read a shitload of the posts out there and everyone says shower, dry then fan or spike it.
But what about hair from 2 days of hairspray and no washing? Still work good? Or should it be clean/cleaner? Just wondering cuz people say dirty hair holds better.

Depends on how dirty your hair is. If by dirty you mean greasy... then I wish you the best of luck. =/
If your hair doesn't get too oily after a day or two, and is still fairly "clean" feeling (even with a touch of hair spray) then it's definitely worth a shot. I don't wash my hair but maybe once a week, haha. Especially since I leave it as it is. When my bangs don't lay together (aka - piece apart cause they're greasy), I know my hair won't go up.
I find damaged hair holds better. Or damaged hair with a touch of product, even slept on, then done works just as well. Definitely dry though. Especially if you are using hair spray to fan it. Less to dry, plus it's more manageable.

there's that nice dry spray in shampoo (batisie i think?) at sally's for pretty cheap, I've used that in my dark hair

Dust it out after? Light brown/dark blonde hair turned grey, but it absorbed the oils and I shook out the excess.

ohh ok. makes sense. my hair seems to get really oily/greasy at the length i currently have it. :/

My experience is that it doesn't. It masks it for a few hours at best... and in terms of putting hair up, it was still a no go.
Waterless shampoos might be different, but I would just rather wash my hair at that point cause I can. haha

Haha yeah I take way too long in the shower. xP I'm just lazy to shower or I don't want to get out of the warmth.
