Hair question, for those of you who excessivly dye their hair..

So basically I've dyed and rebleached and dyed black and rebleached and dyed and bleached and etc. etc. etc. and I'm realizing that my hair probably can't take much more of this on top of the fact that my hair sits in chemicals like hairspray for days on end and 90% of the time.... so my question is.. how do you repeatedly dye the fuck out of your hair and still keep it.... attached to your head?

I've heard soaking my head in eggs might work.. or beer? But no one wants to waste a beer. Come to think of it I don't even want to waste an egg.

Do you every condition your hair? Or get the occasional trim?
I also dye my hair with out bleaching it sometimes. I tend to go from extremely light or bright colors to darker colors.

I know some of us (like myself) have extremely processed hair, but as long as you take care of it, you can delay the crappiness. Worse case scenario is you'll end up cutting a good portion of it off and let it grow back in, right?
Mhmmmm!!! (Thank you for repping CVS =D)
Or henna placentas. oh man. They sound gross but when I used one last time my hair was beautiful.
Then it might be time to take a big cut :-(

Especially if you can gently tug at piece of hair or small section and it will break in half.
AND/OR find a conditioner for extremely damaged hair.
soak your hair in olive oil
its always worked for me and i have had my hair 56 different colors in a year
I've never tried that. I color mine a lot, but it's the bleach that kills it (when I use bleach).
Do you bleach frequently? Or do you tend to just color over other colors? haha
i have to bleach mine my hair holds color for a long time
Yeah, thats usually the case, haha.

I had a customer the other day come in who had bleached her hair but didn't get any of the color to take (it was a deep purple...) so, I suppose nearly all of us on here are lucky in that sense?
olive oil is mostly for shine..

DEEP condition/use a hair mask once a week.. to make your own hair mask mix mayo, avacado, an egg, olive oil, melted butter, and conditioner. nuke it just a smidge so its warm and leave it in your hair for at least a half hour before washing out.

do hot oil treatments every two weeks to once a month.

trim your hair at least once a month.

wash your hair with warm water and rinse it with cold.

you can also buy these little things that you mix into your bleach and it helps protect your hair from chemical damage..i found mine in my local beauty supply store next to the hot oil.

thats all i can think of right now.. brains on the fritz..
Use Aussie's 3 minute miracle in the shower.
If your hair is really wrecked you should use a treatment /atleast/ once a week, when my hair was at its worse I used hair treatment everytime I washed my hair, which was rare and never with hot water, and don't touch your blowdryer, hair likes to airdry when it's damaged.

basically, you /will/ need to cut some of your hair off over time, if you don't want it to look like complete straw, so a good trim will work wonders. You can also sleep with conditioner in your hair and just put a shower cap over, and you might wanna grab a towel too.

If you wanna keep dying your hair then start from light colors and go darker, and when you decide you wanna go light again, let your roots grow out for atleast a month where you condition and baby it like there was no tomorrow! And use the lowest possible bleach volume, like for red hair you probably don't need a 40 vol. ;)
