cutting off hawk :(
I have to cut off my hawk (dont worry I'll be getting it again) and I don't wanna just straight up buzz my entire head so I've been trying to grow my sides out, probably about an inch long now, but for the life of me I can't find a half decent haircut so swing some ideas at me people!

Did the same. I cut my seven and a 1/2 incher down to a shitty one inch. My 6 inch sidehawk is now about 4. Still wicked as all living fuck tho. I was really sad to see the devilock go for now, but it was thin and all lameass.

I got my hawk cut off about a year and a half ago (its back now) but i told the lady to just kinda make it blend in to the rest of my hair and make it look like i didnt have a mullet anymore lol. I am here to tell you to not do that. It ended up being ok, but my hair was always kinda odd. just a little bit off after that. I was giving this some thought too and if i ever have to lose it, i think i would get the back cut the same length as the sides and leave the top. I guess i've kinda come to like what the top looks like just combed over to the front and off to a side. This way you still got some hair and can just get that part fixed when the rest gets to where you want it.

Everytime I've ever cut my hawk off I've just ended up cutting it into a chelsea and then letting the rest grow out around it. After a month or two your hair would probably be long enough to even out and have it not look funny.

Good luck! I dealt with the "mullet" stage as long as possible in hopes of my sides being long enough again to do something with. My regular stylist also left town during my initial "grow out" stage....Some twit who didn't know what a mohawk was or a chelsea cut my hair. i told her i didn't really care as long as she didn't give me a "soccer mom" cut or one of those things i call 'soccer mom chealsea' cuts......i still ened up with a soccer mom cut and it wasn't until i had finally located a stylist who was familiar with the styles I am comfortable with that I was able to get it cut into something reasonable. if your hair is thick enough you might could work a bob.... headbands, scarves and tiny hair clips are your friends until the sides grow out. =)
