Mohawks Rock

It really is amazing how a simple haircut can strike fear and blinding rage into the eyes of zombie conformists.

Here's a story about a team of football players who shaved mohawks as a sign of team solidarity. However, the administration has stepped in and threatened them with suspension as the hairstyle is forbidden.

What is it about a mohawk that strikes fear into the hearts of conformists?

what a bunch of crap!! People should be able to wear thier hair how they chose
theyre not even allowed to spike their hair?
wow, what a load of bullshit.

Practically all school districts have some kind of policy against mohawks . They say it's a distraction. Based on how many people stop one of my friends for photos and to touch his hawk, I'm inclined to agree.

Oh, look, they have hairstyles that we find weird and/or associate with stereotypes based purely on our own ignorance! And although wearing those hairstyles doesn't change the important parts of any of the guys we already approved to have in the team, let's pretend we're intimidated (when we're actually just a bit shocked that somebody would dare not to fit our oh so awesome, narrow views) and tell them to shave their fucking heads!
OK. Seriously? :/ Also, a distraction? Of course it's a distraction if it keeps getting banned... sheesh. But I'm sure the guys in the football team didn't even have their hair in 'distracting', bright colors. In the 21st century, you'd think the world would get over somebody's hair more easily...

Sorry for the rant, I had to.

i completely agree with this.

I have to go threw this shit every day. I don't even spike my hair up at school but just having it shaved like this gets me written up and in trouble all the time. And its only from the up tight conservatives at my school that get me for it. Also they wont let me have patches in my pants!!!! Says im not allowed to have holes in my pants at all ...... So i say they were holes now there not but still a no go -.- i even tried the im to poor to buy new pants so what am i supposed to do ??? Just cause i cant buy 300 dollar jeans with pre-ripped holes that every other person in my school wears and gets away with. Bunch of skanky whores in mini skirts and there tits popping out but i cant wear a skirt shorter then my knees or patched up pants or even a semi low but shirt with out getting written up : /

Its just the way the schools are they single out people and just get them.

What these kids did though was just stupid and the fact that the school made them shave it was even worse.

i think this kinda comes down to nature. for example in a pride of lions the one with the biggest mane is usually the leader. Also with deer, the one with the biggest antlers seems to be in charge. I think deep down the mohawk intimidates them for a similar reason. Its like they feel like someone is taking their power?

sometimes i feel like they think i'm going to hurt them or try and kill somebody.

people and administrations need to get over themselves and realize its just freaking hair. it doesnt bite, its just a bit different from everyone else. personally everytime i get an idiot comment or someone tries to enforce idiot rules it just makes me want to color it and wear it that much bigger.

the entire football team at my high school cut their hair into tiny mohawks.

evidently our school administration is way more relaxed though, considering they're okay with my 7-inch tall purple hair.
