Mohawks Rock

i have seen a lot of emo hating around the forum and it really jiggles my niggle, people dont seem to understand what emo is, it is actually a form of punk, it is not the self mutilating depressed group of people that they are usually put across to be, in fact nirvana are more emo than emos www.youdontknowemo.tk this should clear things up also check it out on wikipedia and urban dictioanary as well

its called electronica! lmao just kidding
it doesnt stand for emotional, if it did it would encompass basically all music, Emo = emotional hardcore.

meh...I just don't like Emo. Not my thing. Nuff said. I am quite the music snob though.

good points, but seriously learn to spell...grammar and punctuation would help too
That really did clear shit up. But it seems kinda like elitist emos trying to deny themselves.
I have emo family members. I don't hate them. But what has come to encompass ''emo" is really fucking gay and is infiltrating real extreme music. That's really what I don't like. A lot of these "emos" are fucking faggots that think they are just too fucking cool to share this earth with anyone else. I don't like pieces of shit like that no matter WHATthefuck they listen to.
I dislike "emo" (i put it in quotes because i am talking bout how the music genre has been turned into a complete and utter fashioncore) well. basically what i have in the parentheses.
but kids these day that claim to be "emo" don't even listen to the genre. It's turned mainstream, it's the hip thing to be. It has turned to being about fashion, and acting meek and pathetic.
holy shit people we are devolving!!!
yupp, some old music in the emo genre is actually pretty good. like hüsker dü, and stuff like that.
but then again, todays emos really do suck. i don't like their music, nor their style. its boring and depressing.
All I've ever thought was that "emo" and "scene" was a simple phase that every adolescent goes through. Maybe not to the extremeties that some do, but a phase in its own right.

Perhaps a reason why so many don't commonly think of emo as a form of punk is because punk combats more serious issues besides teen depression or emotion. I think punk encompasses these two things but it is not as important. I wouldn't worry about too much because like I said before it's a simple phase and I also agree with The Undead in that it seems to just be a trendy thing to despise emos.
