Mohawks Rock

Tomorrow is my grandfathers funeral.
and I was wondering if wearing my hawk up would be okay or not..
My family is really open to me being different so they don't really mind it.
But I just don't know if it will be seen as disrepectful, will it?

My friend joe has a huge mohawk and last spring his grandfather died and joe wrote this in a blog:

"For anyone who knows me really well, my mohawk has always been a part of who i am. And for anybody unfortunate enough to hear me ramble on abut it my hair has always been a tool for me to show respect, if i appreciate what someone does (say a band or politician) i put my hair up just to see them.

Until today i have always had the pleasure of having a very caring and loving grandfather, unfortunately he passed away at 9:30 this morning. One lasting lesson that he taught me was that i always need to be who i feel like being, and "fly my colors" so to speak.

Tomorrow you WILL see my hair standing attention atop my scalp, and although most may not get it, may say "so what", i will know how much it means. May everyone know my respect for him tomorrow, and i hope he would be proud to see me "flying my colors". "
Please accept my sympathies regarding the loss of your grandfather. Sounds like you were close.
being yourself is in no way, shape, or form disrespectful.
i was a pole barer sorry if misspelled but i had mine up
yeah people might see it as disrespectful but if you dont then that is all that matters
