E3 2009

So, what's everybody excited and/or angry about?

I find myself excited but somewhat disappointed about Valve announcing L4D 2, I'm kind of not liking that some levels take place in daylight, kind of kills the mood if you ask me. And of course, with the first having been rushed to release and even with new content released it still feels a bit unfinished, I'm worried what the second will be like...

I'm still catching up on it - well, I've been a bit lazy yet with not really looking at all the sequels. :/ I usually wait until reviews to judge them - though I like seeing new eye-candy. :D

I was most excited by MS's Project Natal - and also slightly sceptical of it...however, watching the vid with that woman kicking, headbutting and flailing (awesome word!) around at balls was much more believable as a true step up in whole-body 3D interaction. The speech/facial recognition idea of it was also nice - but I've yet to be convinced it'll be anything but heavily scripted and limited in that area.

Sony's little motion-tracking stick with a glowy ball on top was actually quite impressive too - with very fast, accurate responses. The problem though is no common standard method for motion tracking between the different consoles.

And finally, Nintendo, well, they seem to have concentrated on the games side...though their new pulse-monitoring finger peripheral made me LOL. XD I'll enjoy some of Wii Sports Resorts 12 games for sure - mostly the sword fighting is what I'm looking forward too, and the jetski-ing. Well, I always loved the subtle control system in the N64 WaveRace.

PC-wise, I've not looked at any of the announcements...just seemed like a lot of sequels announced so I got jaded and didn't check them - yet.
