dyeing orange hair red

tl;dr I have orange hair and I wanna dye it red, will I have to bleache it first, or can I dye over the orange?

Alright, I've had my hair orange for YEARS, I've done just about every color, my favorite was red. Problem was that I've been low on cash, and since orange lasts the longest (in my experience, at least) thats the color I kept it. Now works starting to pick back up and I have the cash to spend on dye ($10, CHA-CHING) and I want to do red again. I just bleached my roots and dyed it last month (FUUUUUU) so I'd rather not bleach my hair again.

Can you dye Nuclear Red over Napalm Orange?

If it was me i would just bleach my hair again lightly and then dye it red.

I might just lightly use peroxide, but until then I wanna see how much dye I can make fade

if i were you i wouldnt re bleach it. it would either A. COMPLETELY! kill your hair or B. when dying it the red, come out a totally wierd color.

but if you dye over it with the red i dont see why it shouldnt work

I found some Special Effects blood red under the sink, but my friends getting me Nuclear Red for christmas; catch is its gonna be here late (like in mid january) so I'm thinking of using the blood red for now
