good long lasting RED dye?

everyone swears by special effects, and i've had better results from manic panic-but yeah-nuclear red was the most awesome, most bright, color i've ever used, and it only lasted one wash in cold water with no shampoo. i've used this other dye: creative image, same thing. and poppy red from punky colours, and it never seems to come out that bright....is there a RED that will last?
