im gonna re-do the purple dye @ the weekend see if we can get it a better purple with an extra layer

Its a dye, i forget the name of it!

unfortuently it didnt quite stay that colour after washing it out, its more Blue with a tinge of purple

That is some serious purple. You do that with paint, or just a crap ton of coloring.
