@Sambo: It's impossible not to love them. They're intelligent, loving creatures with quirky personalities. It's hard though, since they have short lifespans and you get so attached to them, to get more after one dies. The rat in this picture, Testbite, died a few months back from a tumor and I had lost my adventure buddy and best friend. Haven't gotten another one and probably won't for a while. Right now, I'm sticking to babysitting other people's rats.
I made them. Just in case you're curious here's how I do it.
I use Pabst bottle caps since they're screw off, bent ones are hard to work with, and they also have the cards on the bottom which is just for fun. Now there's a site where you can get a spreadsheet with the top of the caps on it. I print those out and take a very tiny paint brush and go over it with paint a few times so it doesn't look printed. I then cut it out and rubber cement it to the top of of the bottle cap. After it's dried I add a thick layer of paint around the outside, let it dry and continue to do so until you can't tell it has been glued on. Then I add a bit more paint to the center and logo to even it out. Once I have it to where I like it I give it between 5-15 coats of clear spraypaint to act as a sealant.
Takes a long time but it is worth it. I've given them to friends and started paying people in caps for stuff like rides, food, and cigarettes. A lot of fun.
