Sounds like they want you to achieve things their way. Sometimes you just have to branch out and follow your own road to achieve things your way. It doesn't really matter what happens, it's the trying that's key to everything.

You do, you learn and keep going. Balance is the key and you can't please everyone all the time sadly. But keep yourself at heart and what you enjoy doing even in face of criticism. Now find me my sensai smock ;)

You want them to respect you without all the fighting and bickering? It sounds pretty tiring all right - I remember feeling worthless and having to argue with my folks/family loads, but the anger you're feeling can be a good way to keep depression away. Being creative, you can focus your energies there - it's a good out let.

There's always potential worth in you - to all sorts and in all sorts of ways (even down to your cons =) ) Best way to feel good about yourself is to find things you can do that make you feel good about yourself in a good way. The parents will come round in time or maybe you'll find some place with someone or that.

Yeah, I went to that sort of college too - I found it more fun than when I later went to Uni after 'cause I stayed in the same group of people & lecturers all week long and so we all bonded pretty well.

re: the parents: It's good to offload and talk it out with friends, it's hard to say why with so little info, but I guess it might be they're trying to 'protect' you from going out over night with the deadbolt. Parents tend to overprotect and argue about things that aren't a real problem (like clothes, hair, etc.) 'cause they let their imagination run riot and fear all sorts of stuff.

I kinda like my long hair, but was thinking of kinda short on top then letting it taper off the the long at the back that way i can still do different things with it :)
