If you are going to stay in Barcelona, I strongly recommend you to visit "Les Rambles", the most famous avenue in the center. There's a street called Carrer Tallers, which is very well-known for its cultural diversity, also famous for its shops. In this street it's quite common to find other punks, goths, etc..
By the way, don't miss the beach :)

thanks! i went to see a gallery of his work a few years ago and got a poster there. they had larger than life puppets of his where the wild things are monsters ^.^
