heh.. see the thing is, someone in the family with a hawk can seriously help change the views of the negative people in the family. my dad didnt want me to get a hawk, he told me he would kick me out and blah blah blah. but he didnt, he didnt talk to me for three days and it took him a month or two to get over it but now he likes it and he even shaves my head for me and buys me hair dye sometimes. and because of all that hes alot more open minded twords other people who want to look the way they wanna look :]
baisically it might be hell for awhile but in the long run it can turn out to be a really good thing.. and hell, mines a self esteem boost for me! haha thats always a plus :P

yeah for sure, the thicker the better in my opinion if you dont like it or dont need it you can always thin it out. but if you cut it too thin its not so easy to grow the width back..
my hawk is currently about 6 inches but im going much longer which is why its so wide. an inch and a half to two inches should be plenty good for your hawk :]
i used got to be gled spiking gel, it works pretty for liberty spikes just so long as you dont use to much of it, nad as for the coarseness, i dont really know how much it matters.

Tis' not very think, like, half an inch at best.
