I kind of feel like my 'hawk might be to wide, but worried about going to narrow as I have thin hair... I have side pieces and sometimes have a fringe down.
I agree with Sick: it really depends on the look you're going for.
Keep in mind, if you're wanting a tall mohawk (shooting for the 10-12 in/25 cm-30cm range), you're going to want a wider "base" to ease putting it up. If you want to rock a shorter mohawk, you're not going to rely so much on a sturdy base and can get away with a narrower mohawk.
One of my mates, for his first mohawk (only about an inch, really curly hair) held a belt across his head and I shaved off everything on either side of it. He never wanted to sport it much longer than that, and it looked great.
Thanks!! I made it a bit narrower,maybe two inches across. Everyone told me it looks better :) I'll keep in mind about the base for a taller 'hawk!
