Business Punk
Now to be brutally honest and because it may not be the Rebel way I'm not sure how most of you might take this but here goes.
My style of dress is to accompany the hawk with a suit. I just always enjoyed the prospect of the two and find both styles very attractive. Very un-contemporary with modern business if you will. I have only once found a girl with a mohawk and "business" clothing, black skirt, female suit jacket, the whole nine yards. That was a fantastic day.
So does anyone else do this? I worked as a salesman before and thats where it all started for me. Just curious.
So I ask does anyone else here

I've only done it for a wedding. I like how I look in suits but I just don't get very comfortable in them because I'm a big guy and it seems that my size wavers quite a bit. But the looks is sharp. I mean it says you want to stand out, but can still be professional. I'm really big into breaking the idea that mohawks can't be professional. Like I've been saying, "judge me by my skills and actions, not by my hair."

Thats totally where I'm coming from as well. I hate it when people assume, but in truth what can you do? Regardless if things change it won't be for a long time. I don't think it will be common place for me in the future or even my kids. The only thing I have noticed is that a popular Asian hair cut in BC right now is a faux hawk or a blade cut. Still no shaved side though :P

I would totally rock my 'hawk in a suit, but I don't have one. I love suits, ties, vests. Just all that snazzy stuff in general. But I'm poor and have piecing together a suit for a little bit now. A girl's pinstripe blazer with the shoulders ripped out, some vests I picked up from Gordman's, a tie I got for cheap, dress shirts from Burlington coat factory. Yeah, not exactly the best suit, but so far I get complimented. :\

you all have so much problems being accepted with your mohawks what the fuck its all in the attitude a good boss will not give a fuck if you got a mohawk, he cares more about your skills

Now that is true but it is harder to get the job in the first place that is the issue. You could be a phenomenal worker and get turned down before they know you are. And as for handing in a Resume, its hard not to get fired these days and one managers approval from a completely different store really means nothing. Most likely the case will be is he looks at you and thinks you're out to bring the "man" down and says you don't meet his requirements.

The suit and mohawk is really my favorite combination. I love showing up to work in some of Atlantas most prestigious offices with uptight lawyers and snooty women getting onto elevators only to be freaked out by a 7footer with a hawk and a suit which shows them I mean business.
One guy got so mad at me one day he pulled his mercedes over in the middle of a road with three of his 50+ lawyer friends in the car. He said, "Who do you think you are with that stupid haircut. I'd never hire someone like you."
I replied, "Well thats great, cause I certainly wouldn't work with someone like you, much less for you".
He starts getting redder in the face, "Why does your company still keep your punk ass hired and working".
I lean into the car, red, white and blue hawk all up inside some pissing him off more. "Turns out I'm just that damn good at what I do that they don't have the option to care about my style."
Very pissed he says "Well you better be some kind of nuclear physicists splitting atoms".
I laugh, "How the fuck do you think i get my hair to stand up like this?"
His friends burst out laughing as he turned beat read, gripped the steering well and sped away. It was fantastic, you could tell that no one had ever stood up to that uptight lawyer asshole. He probably thought he'd have easy pickings of a mohawk in a suit, and yet he got served.

Oh, also forgot to mention that when I rocked the suit and giant mohawk in London last spring, it was still a pretty big deal. Figured they'd be more used to mohawks but they werent. Especially the tour buses full of japanese people with tons of cameras flashing as they drove by on my 10 mile walk through the city, something I'd recommend to anyone visiting. I even caught one of the Buckingham palace guards flinching when he caught the hawk and suit out of the corner of his eye. Now thats saying something.
