Mohawks Rock

My mohawk has gotten pretty long now and its really starting to bitch. In the front to middle its fine but once i start going down hairs just bundle together and it kinda leaves empty spaces and when i smooth it out it just doesn't work. How do i stop getting these empty spaces?

Try starting in the middle.

You can always just bunch up the hair a bit, it makes the hawk a little shorter, but it removes all the gaps.
I didn't mean to back-comb it, I meant to like bring the sections together and spray, so the hawk doesn't go as close to the bottom of your neck, but with no patches.

Not quite sure how to say without showing you.
Yeah but that doesn't work with longer hawks.
Mine's pretty long.
use a fine tooth comb and do sections at a time , don't forget to put your head down at first when you start the back so gravity does not have it's way with your hair , once you have the base of your hawk sorted it's easy to get rid of the gaps using the comb , start half way up the hawk then keep hold of your hair trapped in the comb and spray and heat , just repeat where needed.
