@Shon - I'm straight and just got my hair cut back to the 'hawk. I get looks all the time and I'm sure most think I'm lesbian. Whatever. I've a disability, what the hell is the difference between a stare at my staggery walk/wheelchair or my Mohawk? xx

Probably depends upon each persons hair, but I find that the looks of a good mohawk fade before the hair really gives way.  Also the scalp can get itchy.  3-4 days is really the max I've gotten and typically after a night of sleep its pretty mangled.

Styling products for thick hair. I have a chelsea mohawk and i have thick hair. I was wondering what styling products should I use?

Mini McTanish:

Wet my hair
Use a small amount of mousse and focus on getting it just in the roots of my hair.
blow-dry my hair upside down (sometimes i straighten it with a flat iron too, but thats optional)
With a teasing brush, I back comb my hair.

shape it with my hands, add hairspray, shape it with my hands, add hairspray so on and so on until i get my desired look.

Your mohawk should be more soft, fluffy. and ratty looking as opposed to hard, stiff, and spikey.

The products I use:
Hairspray - Rave (which ever strongest hold they have)

Mousse - TIGI Catwalk Mousse (but I'm sure any will do)

Both of those can be found in an American Drug store like Walgreens or CVS.

I use Got2B Freezing Spray as my initial spray along with a blow dryer to get my Hawk up. Then once it is all up and done, I spray it with a hard holding hair spray. After that, each morning I touch my Hawk up where it needs it, usually with Got2B Freezing Spray and a blow dryer, and again, once it is all finalized to where I want it, will give it a spray with hard holding hair spray.

Hey! I was curious what products people use to keep their hawks up?

So I switched my Hawk into a Chelsea Hawk.....do you people with Chelseas usually use a curling iron on your bangs? :-)

Hey!! So I have my senior prom coming up in a week

and I just thought it would be hip to see if any of you ladies have pictures of yourself in a mohawk or the likes at a prom or wedding, etc.

fancy dress and a badass hawk?!

I'm trying to decide whether or not I want to put the hawk up or leave it down.. and whether or not to add the color of my prom dress (green) to the mohawk. Also, my date is super goth, and he's got the whole.. Robert Smith hair goin on... So we'll be lookin pretty crazy. :P

but yeah, please share pictures if you have any. That'd be so cool!
