"Soft" spiking

so I am putting this hear because I see a lot more girls styling their hawks this way than I see boys.

How do you spike it leaving it wide and "fluffy" at the top of the fan? Not all stuck together to a point. Almost like a death hawk, but not quite..... I'll include a few pictures
(the blond one in the first picture, the second pic is what I'm bringing w/ me to my appointment w/ my hair salon)
